Allow me to tell you about a 72-year-old friend of mine. Most of the time she can manage pretty well on her own. Oh yes, she has lapse of memory, especially when it comes to remembering to take her medications.
Her son helps her in that area by phoning her 3 times a day as a reminder to take her pills. She has confided to me that she feels like she is a burden to him. He has a life of his own with a wonderful wife, who she just adores, and 3 small children, which are the joy of everyone’s life.
She told me that she is sure he feels guilty when he wants and needs to take some time for himself and his family. Just going on a weekend jaunt is a problem for him. He always makes arrangements for others to call her when he is gone, but sometimes that can be difficult as many times others are away and unable to assist.
Just recently, he read about a service he found on the Internet, called Verbaprompt. Well, he phoned them and set up a service for them to call her as many times as needed, to remind her to take her meds on time. This has saved a lot of time for her son as well as taking the guilt away from my friend. She can now live more independently and doesn’t feel like she is a burden for him anymore. Their relationship has become much closer and she is able to do more for herself.
She discovered that Verbaprompt could do more than just remind her when to take her meds. Verbaprompt also reminds her when she has a doctor’s appointment and that she needs to call the Red Cross bus and make arrangements to be taken on her appointment.
It also reminds her when she needs to refill her meds and when she needs to get them renewed.
She feels much more independent and good about herself.
Ask what they can do to make you or someone you know and love more independent and to be able to live a more meaningful life!!!! Give a gift of this service for a birthday."
